Tuesday

one of those rainy, cool and clear days when you don't really want to do anything, but listen to the water fall, and curl up somewhere warm with a little poetry and a somber thought or two.

gaelic, nerves, auditions, tiredness & rain, (2 solos), work, dance & a wedding
&
listen to this

I caught my first glimpse yesterday of the trees turning. My days are full of these breezy warm mornings, accompanied by this and a little this, for spice. Too much to do as always, when autumn hits. But hurrah of hurrahs, my latest feat of arms has been completed. Behold my first commission writing websites: voila! Unfortunately there's still hours of work to be done to fine-tune it.
The Revels are my new autumn life - Gaelic is difficult to memorize. Much more frustrating that you'd expect. But worth it - esp. when Irish dancing is thrown in, and a chance to work with Kevin Burke.

Be Mercury, set feathers to thy heels

Hardy, some Ezra Pound, and Cormac McCarthy. Leather shoes, Sweaters, and new silk scarves. A little this, and too much Gaelic to memorize. September's half away already.

And now here is my secret, a very simple secret;
it is only with the heart that one can see rightly,
what is essential is invisible to the eye.

Sometimes it's hard to find a way to keep on
Quiet weekends, holidays
You come undone
Open your window and look upon
All the kinds of alive you can be
Be still, be light, believe me
- The Weepies

Its so easy to get busy and without realising it, let the little moments drop. You stop noticing the artwork on the walls, or the lyrics of the songs, or the way the sun catches that roof just right. I've been too long astray in just that way. Song of the day: here.

and I'm afraid these photos were gleaned from an antique file on my computer. I have no idea whose they are

Nearby is the country they call life
You will know it by its seriousness

Give me your hand.
